Senior Project Manager

A Senior Project Manager at HBK Organization is a position that leads, supports, and directs teams consisting of project managers, engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in the design, modification, analysis, and constructability of new and existing utility systems. This senior management role involves leading teams to identify all project risks and develop mitigation strategies while working on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction-related issues. The position requires managing, supervising, and scheduling execution of programs while monitoring productivity, quality, financial health, and progress with comprehensive oversight responsibilities. This position can be seated in one of the following office locations: Chicago, Oak Brook, or Geneva, IL.

• Lead, support, and direct teams consisting of project managers, engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in design, modification, analysis, and constructability of new and existing utility systems
• Lead teams to identify all project risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies
• Work on challenging assignments including investigating, troubleshooting, and solving engineering and construction-related issues
• Prepare, review, and approve proposals, contracts, and cost estimates with senior management authority
• Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget while managing financials and metrics related to projects
• Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants and clients
• Manage, supervise, and schedule execution of programs with comprehensive oversight
• Monitor productivity, quality, financial health, and progress of programs across multiple projects
• Lead safety initiatives as needed by the organization and ensure program safety compliance
• Report all project and program updates to clients and make recommendations based on professional education and experience
• Manage, develop, mentor, and evaluate resources within the organization
• Train Project Coordinators, Senior Project Coordinators, and Project Managers in best practices and methodologies
• Travel as required for project needs and client engagement
• Coordinate with area agencies, municipalities, and governing jurisdictions for project approvals
• Utilize advanced software proficiency in AutoCAD, Deltek, and SharePoint for project management
• Lead engineering design teams through all phases of project designs with comprehensive oversight.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited program 
• CAPM or PMP licensure recommended
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for technical design oversight
• Proficiency in Deltek for project management and financial tracking
• Proficiency in SharePoint for collaborative project management
• Experience leading and mentoring less experienced staff
• Utility design and/or coordination experience
• Experience in leading an engineering design team through all phases of project designs
• Familiarity with area agencies, municipalities, and governing jurisdictions
• Contract negotiation and management expertise
• Program management and financial oversight capabilities
• Risk management and mitigation strategy development
• Safety leadership and compliance management
• Ability to work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds at a time.
• Professional Engineering Licensure preferred

• Pay range: $90,000.00 to $130,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience.
  The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and the potential to participate in our discretionary annual incentive bonus program.
