About this Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant to join our team in Overland Park, KS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of various projects, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and providing financial insights to support project management and decision-making.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the financial management of multiple projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and review project financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain project budgets and financial plans.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support project decision-making and identify potential cost savings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and revenue recognition for projects.
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to project financials.
  • Maintain and reconcile project-related accounts in the general ledger.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and project accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in construction, engineering, or similar industries preferred.
