About this Role

Location: 3500 Colonnade Pkwy Suite 550, Birmingham, AL 35243

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to join our fast-paced EPC team in the power sector, working on gas turbines, renewables, BESS, substations, and transmission systems. You will create precise electrical designs and construction packages that drive project success, ensuring quality, accuracy, and seamless coordination across disciplines.

What You'll Do

  • Produce electrical installation details, MCC single lines, motor elementary diagrams, electric room layouts, cable schedules, power, lighting, and grounding plans.

  • Perform calculations for lighting levels, voltage drop, conduit/tray fill, wire/conduit sizing, and overcurrent protection.

  • Determine motor control center and substation loading.

  • Develop accurate installation documents from vendor drawings.

  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure integrated designs.

  • Support field verification and provide on-site assistance during construction and startup.

  • Contribute to cost estimation, material take-offs, and project scheduling.

What You'll Bring

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting.

  • Minimum 7 years of electrical design experience, preferably in EPC and power sectors.

  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical materials/construction practices.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required, 3D desirable), Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of virtual teams.
