The Procurement Supplier Quality Specialist works closely with engineered equipment / material suppliers and construction subcontractors to prepare and monitor quality plans, defect rates and acceptance tests. This position will assist both in the selection criteria of vendors based on quality as well as providing quality assistance and feedback throughout the production process.
· Understands, tracks, and supports equipment quality requirements
· Provides Quality Metrics to the preparation of the the bidders list. Solicits quality plans and data from bidders.
· Visits bidder manufacturing facilities to audit adherence to the quality plan and audit quality record-keeping.
· Coordinates technical reviews of quotes.
· Maintains positive relationships with vendors and subcontractors
· Witnesses factory acceptance tests for key equipment.
· Ensures all Factory Acceptance Testing, QA/QC testing, quality plans and quality event data are accurately and formally documented
· Eliminates and/or mitigates risks as related to construction subcontracts and purchase orders
· Validates equipment and material types and quantities from engineering drawings and organizes data in applicable spreadsheets per material management system requirements
· Coordinates third-party quality audits
· Compile and provide internal and external metric reporting
· Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
· Performs special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requested
Required Experience and Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering
Preferred Experience and Education
· Strong vendor and subcontractor industry relationships
· Understanding of equipment material specifications and testing requirements
· Experience with quality surveillance programs
· Experience with quality assurance and quality improvement processes
Skills
· Self-starter who can work independently while supporting the needs of the team
· Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
· Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
· Customer service and effective time management skills
