Engineering Intern

Job Title: Engineering Intern

The Engineering Coop or Intern will be responsible for the preparation and development of designs for complex power generation and distribution projects. This work will be performed under direct supervision of a more senior engineer.

· Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering related issues.

· Utilize analytical, CAD, and mathematical skills to support the team with related projects, under the direction of experienced team members.

· Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings.

· Prepare reports and studies that represent technical information in a clear and concise manner to meet client requirements as needed.

· Participate in design activities in compliance with specifications, codes, and client requirements.

· Assist engineers & designers to produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.

· Collaborate with Project Engineers in the review of scope, design, cost, schedule, and completion of engineering projects.

· Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects concurrently, adjusting to a constant shift in project priority and deadlines.

· Basic knowledge of design standards, codes, specs & materials.

· Working knowledge of CAD software, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, Electdesk or Navisworks is very helpful.

· Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, & Outlook)

· Strong verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.

· Willingness to learn new software and engineering tools.

· Ability to work independently and in virtual, cross-function teams.

· Ability to be flexible and maintain a positive attitude.
