IT Applications Specialist

The Applications Specialist at Quanta Power Solutions (QPS) is responsible for supporting, maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting business-critical software applications used across QPS operational environments. This role ensures applications run efficiently, users receive timely and effective technical support, and the organization maximizes value from its digital tools. The position blends technical expertise, customer service, application performance management, and cross-functional collaboration

What You'll Do

 

Application Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide technical support to end users via email, phone, and in person.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application errors, performance issues, and system outages.
  • Log, track, and manage incidents and service requests, maintaining clear and consistent user communication.
  • Resolve recurring issues, optimize workflows, and support colleagues with complex technical challenges.
  • Support IT hardware and software across Dell and Lenovo desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and VPN infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, and maintain engineering and enterprise software, including license management and version control.

System & Infrastructure Support

  • Configure and support servers and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure, including:
    • Microsoft Intune for device and end-user management
    • Microsoft Azure for virtual machines, storage, and servers
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, asset inventory, and IT lifecycle refreshes.

Application Portfolio Support

  • Support engineering and design applications such as:
    • AutoCAD, Navisworks, Inventor, PLS-CADD, FAD Tools, ArcGIS, or similar
  • Support enterprise business systems, including:
    • JD Edwards, Concur, Kronos, or similar platforms
  • Support Azure Enterprise Applications.

Application Maintenance & Optimization

  • Manage and maintain core applications to ensure uptime, performance, and compliance.
  • Perform routine application health checks and monitor system performance.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for application enhancements and configuration improvements.

User Training & Documentation

  • Deliver user training sessions to improve adoption and proficiency.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including user guides, workflows, and knowledge-base materials.
  • Document application updates, changes, and best practices.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with IT, business units, and development teams to implement updates, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Participate in meetings with development teams to communicate user feedback and drive application improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, business workflows, and process quality efforts.
  • Maintain a strong customer-service mindset and communicate solutions clearly and professionally.
  • Gather user requirements and ensure applications align with business objectives.

What You'll Bring

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in application support, IT support, or a similar corporate environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise software systems; familiarity with ERP, CRM, or workflow tools preferred.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with non-technical users.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Office Suite, application management tools, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
