About this Role

The Accountant II is responsible for performing routine to moderately complex accounting activities, including general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis. This role supports the accounting close process, assists with financial reporting, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information. The Accountant II works under general supervision and follows established accounting policies and procedures.

What You'll Do

Duties

  • Perform general ledger, balance sheet, and income statement reconciliations in accordance with established procedures
  • Prepare and post standard and recurring journal entries
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit requests
  • Assist the Corporate Accounting team with financial reporting support as needed
  • Participate in maintaining inter-company transactions, including reconciliations and variance follow-up
  • Coordinate with Quanta Operating Units to gather financial data and ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with documenting accounting processes and procedures
  • Identify basic process improvement opportunities and escalate recommendations to senior accounting staff
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, controls, and procedures
  • Perform special projects and other accounting-related duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience in a corporate accounting environment, public accounting firm, or large organization

Preferred Experience and Education

  • Progress toward CPA certification (or interest in pursuing)
  • Exposure to construction or project-based accounting environments
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with moderate supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting systems
