Sourcing Manager – Build the Future of Energy

 

Join a mission-driven team delivering the next generation of energy infrastructure. EnergyLink, a Quanta company is hiring a people-focused Sourcing Manager with strong EPC experience—preferably within the utility or power sector—to lead and develop a team of procurement professionals supporting high-impact energy and power projects.

 

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Sourcing Specialists and Senior Sourcing Specialists. The Sourcing Manager will provide day-to-day guidance, performance feedback, and professional development while ensuring sourcing strategies align with project schedules, budgets, and business objectives.

This position is fully remote, but with up to 20% domestic travel. 

 

What You'll Do

The Sourcing Manager leads the material sourcing function for Transmission, Substation, and Distribution EPC projects. This role is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of material bid packages, managing vendor relationships, and guiding a team of sourcing professionals. The Sourcing Manager ensures sourcing strategies align with project requirements, client expectations, and company standards, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of sourcing professionals, including Sr. Sourcing Specialists, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of material bid packages for EPC projects, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client specifications.
  • Review client RFPs and engineering designs to identify material sourcing requirements, compliance needs (e.g., MBE/WBE, Buy American), and scope gaps.
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans and vendor engagement strategies to support project timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation of Bills of Materials (BOMs), material take-offs, and specifications to support bid development.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including prequalification, negotiations, and contract terms, with a focus on cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Approve bid evaluations and vendor recommendations prepared by the sourcing team, ensuring alignment with commercial and risk assessment standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering, project management, and supply chain to ensure sourcing activities support overall project success.
  • Monitor sourcing performance metrics and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and value.
  • Ensure compliance with internal sourcing policies, documentation standards, and audit requirements.
  • Up to 10% domestic travel.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8–12 years in sourcing/procurement, with 4–6 in T&D or electric utility projects.
  • Experience managing sourcing teams, complex bids, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 30% domestically. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of T&D materials (conductors, insulators, poles, hardware, cable).
  • EPC project experience and familiarity with drawings/BOMs.
  • Experience with Procore, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Established utility vendor relationships.
