POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Superintendent II is responsible for the direct supervision and coordination of field construction activities on assigned Quanta Government Solutions (QGS) projects, ensuring work is executed safely, productively, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, schedule, and quality standards. As a senior field leader, the Superintendent Level II manages daily site operations, directs subcontractors and crews, enforces safety, and serves as a key interface between the field and project management. This is a remote-based position reporting to the Vice President, Project Delivery, and requires substantial travel and on-site presence at active project locations.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct, on-site supervision of daily field construction operations, directing subcontractors, crews, and trades to execute work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and schedule.
  • Serve as the senior field leader for jobsite safety, leading daily safety briefings, enforcing QGS and OSHA safety programs, and driving a zero-incident culture.
  • Coordinate and sequence field activities, manpower, equipment, and materials to maintain schedule and productivity, proactively identifying and resolving field conflicts and constraints.
  • Perform and oversee quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), ensuring workmanship meets contract, code, and client requirements, and manage inspections and punch list closeout.
  • Maintain accurate daily field reports, logs, and documentation, and communicate progress, issues, and needs to the Construction Manager and project team.
  • Manage site logistics, layout, and housekeeping, and ensure compliance with site-specific and federal (e.g., DOE/NNSA) access, security, and environmental requirements.
  • Work extended hours and shifts as required to meet project demands (for example, a minimum of 50 hours per week on a regular basis), travel to and maintain on-site presence at project locations, and perform additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field with a minimum of 10 years of full-time experience as a Superintendent; or a High School Diploma or equivalent with completion of vocational/technical training and a minimum of 12 years of full-time experience as a Superintendent.
  • > 6 Years

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Superintendent experience on federal government sites, including DOE/NNSA facilities, and experience in nuclear, high-security, or heavily regulated environments.
  • > 11 Years

 

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Required Licenses/Certifications

 

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable federal site access and/or security clearance (e.g., DOE) as required by the assigned program or contract.

 

Preferred Licenses/Certifications

  • Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) or equivalent credential.
  • Additional safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 500/510, First Aid/CPR/AED).
  • Trade-specific or quality certifications relevant to the assigned scope of work.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises assigned jobsite field staff (e.g., assistant superintendents, foremen, and field engineers) and directs subcontractor crews; the number of direct reports varies by project size, phase, and assignment.
