About this Role

Director, Scheduling and Planning
In Office: Houston, TX 

Travel: Up to 25% domestic 

 

The Director, Scheduling and Planning will have the opportunity to build and transform a world-class scheduling function that directly impacts how QISG plans, executes, and delivers complex EPC projects. This strategic leadership role will define the vision, establish industry-leading standards, and elevate scheduling from a reporting function into a proactive business partner that drives project success.

The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking scheduling leader with deep EPC experience who thrives on building high-performing teams, improving processes, and creating meaningful change.

 

You will champion Primavera P6 excellence, strengthen project predictability, and develop a culture where schedulers are trusted advisors who identify risks, influence decisions, and help deliver successful outcomes across QISG.

What You'll Do

  • Build and lead a high-performing scheduling organization with consistent standards, expectations, and best practices.
  • Develop and implement scheduling processes across QISG portfolios, project phases, and contract structures.
  • Establish schedule quality standards, reporting expectations, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Partner with Project Controls, Operations, Estimating, and Project Management to improve project forecasting and execution.
  • Drive Primavera P6 best practices, schedule health reviews, baseline management, progress updates, and schedule analysis.
  • Develop schedulers into proactive project advisors who identify risks, recommend solutions, and communicate impacts.
  • Integrate schedule, cost, scope, productivity, and risk information to improve project predictability.
  • Improve reporting, analytics, and tools to support leadership decision-making.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop scheduling professionals while creating a culture focused on quality and accountability.
  • Support project pursuits, proposals, and strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Travel up to 25% to support projects and teams.

What You'll Bring

  • 15+ years of project controls experience supporting complex EPC, heavy construction, power delivery, or infrastructure projects.
  • 5+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and developing scheduling teams.
  • Extensive Primavera P6 experience with large, multi-year projects.
  • Strong understanding of project controls including:
    • Planning and scheduling
    • Cost and schedule integration
    • Earned Value Management (EVM)
    • Progress measurement
    • Change management
    • Risk and contingency management
    • Forecasting and reporting
  • Experience developing resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules.
  • Ability to analyze schedule performance and communicate insights to executive leadership.
  • Strong understanding of construction execution, procurement, contracting strategies, and project delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent project controls experience considered.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with the ability to create clear reports and presentations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
