About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a dedicated System Safety Manager professional to assist in the execution and continuous improvement of safety programs supporting power generation projects across the United States. This position will partner closely with corporate safety leadership, project managers, site supervision, and craft personnel to ensure safe work practices are consistently implemented across gas-fired generation, renewable energy, battery energy storage, fossil fuel, and related energy infrastructure projects.

 

The ideal candidate is passionate about safety, enjoys spending time in the field, and can effectively support compliance efforts while building strong relationships with operations teams. This role requires extensive travel to active construction and maintenance sites and serves as a key resource in promoting Quanta's commitment to a "Zero Incident" culture.

What You'll Do

  • Support company-wide environmental, health, and safety initiatives across power generation construction, maintenance, and outage projects.
  • Conduct routine field audits, safety observations, inspections, and compliance reviews at active generation facilities and construction sites.
  • Assist project leadership with hazard identification, job hazard analyses (JHAs), risk mitigation strategies, and corrective action planning.
  • Promote compliance with OSHA regulations, client-specific requirements, and Quanta Power Solutions safety standards.
  • Participate in incident, injury, vehicle, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
  • Support contractor and subcontractor safety compliance efforts during project execution.
  • Assist with onboarding, new hire orientations, safety training, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Track safety performance metrics, training records, inspection findings, and corrective action items.
  • Help coordinate emergency response preparedness and ensure site readiness for potential incidents.
  • Collaborate with project teams during outages, commissioning activities, major equipment installations, and critical lifts.
  • Prepare reports and communicate safety trends, observations, and recommendations to management.
  • Travel extensively to support field operations across multiple power generation project locations.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of safety experience supporting power generation, industrial construction, utility, energy, manufacturing, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and safe work practices.
  • Experience leading safety initiatives, conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence craft personnel, project leadership, contractors, and clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management platforms.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel 50-75%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30, OSHA 500/510, CHST, ASP, or CSP certification.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
  • Experience supporting gas-fired generation, combined-cycle, renewable energy, solar, battery storage, or other large-scale EPC projects.
  • Working knowledge of LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Crane & Rigging, Hot Work, and Outage Safety programs.
